Micah has been dreaming about owning her own yarn shop for quite some time. But finding an affordable brick and mortar in Baton Rouge was hard to come by. She found out her friends at The Artist's Loft had some space available to rent in December 2023. Micah immediately called Terra of Mitchell's Creations and asked her if she would be on board to have a yarn shop together. Before Micah could finish her sentence, Terra said YES! Together they are providing hand dyed yarn and more to the Baton Rouge area. The story is still continuing.
Nestled in the growing part of the Capital City, The Knots Bayou is conveniently located inside The Artist's Loft at the Antioch Shopping Center. The Artist's Loft features Louisiana based vendors of handmade items. The venue also offers a food court for guests to enjoy breakfast and lunch including grits, eggs, bacon, Thai cuisine, American favorites and pizza. Sweets are also on the menu.
Micah is the owner of Fleur De Stitch'd. She began dying yarn in 2019 due to the lack of hand dyed yarn and LYS in the Baton Rouge area. She is currently a student at SLU studying Health & Physical Education and a minor in English. She hopes to bring fiber art into the EBR school system so that students are able to learn a new skill. Knitting, crochet and etc have such a huge mental health benefit and she believes this outlet will be substantial for our youth in EBR Parish.
Terra is the owner of Mitchell's Creations. She began dying in 2019. She participates in fiber festivals and trunk shows and her yarn is placed in several yarn shops across the country. Living the country life in Franklinton, LA, Terra enjoys time with her family and close knit friends.
